Video Electroencephalogram (VEEG)

A video EEG (electroencephalography) is an specialized, non-invasive diagnostic procedure that simultaneously records electrical brain activity and a video of a patient’s physical behavior, during wakefulness and potentially during natural occurring sleep. To perform this procedure, small electrodes are attached to the scalp, connected to recording equipment, while a video camera continuously records the patient’s actions. Depending on the specific objective of the study, some activation maneuvers or cognitive tasks may be performed, as well as the duration may be of several minutes (less than one hour) or several hours.
